5:20 PM | mall walkers.
so i had the day off today. oh and i am fat. so i dropped princess off at daycare so i can do a bit of after christmas shopping. oh and i am fat. to my suprise, NOTHING was opened at 8. so, i went to the mall and there were a bunch of cars. hmmm. mall walkers. now that isn't a bad idea. my hubby and i have been talking about ME starting to exercise again. oh, because i am fat. forgot about the mall and how perfect since it is cold out. we were going to go to the track tomorrow but now i am thinking... burrrrr. so there i go, hopped out of my boots and into my sneakers... happened to have them in my car. and away i went. funny thing though, i bet the people who were there go often. so they all probably know each other. i wondered if anyone was thinking... "who the heck is that?" i was snickering to myself since i felt like a mall walker hopper. i didn't belong. it wasn't my town. not sure if i will ever go there again. may start at my own mall that is near my house. it was just funny.

ok so batch 3 was tonight and let me tell you things are looking really good. very helpful know what firm-ball stage means. i now need to wait 12 hours and then i will be able to cut them with sissors or the cookie cutter. i will keep you posted.

5:03 PM | tips on cooking?? don't ask me!
how hard is it to make frick'n marshmallows. i mean REALLLLLLY. this is my 2nd attempt. the first attempt was yesturday and i thought it was the stupid recipe. i compared it to another recipe (from the joy of cooking) and my goodness there was a bit of a difference. so of course i blamed it on the NON professional recipe and went on to try the joy of cooking's. i mean really, they will know what they are talking about. that was my "tonights" attempt. as you can see to the left, that turned out well. yeah and to top it off, it's hardened in there. hope i didn't ruin my $65 pot. curious to know what happened? well, it is quite amusing i must admitt. SOOOOOO, the directs states to heat the sugar and water to a boil and cook until the firm-ball stage. firm-ball stage. ok, a firm ball = the stage. yup that is what i am thinking. ok, i can do that.
tick tock tick tock.
ME: honey, don't you find it odd that sugar and water when boiled would turn into a ball? i mean it dissolves when it's heated.
tick tock tick tock
ME: this really doesn't seem right, it isn't doing anything. well the directions did say to let the geletin and water sit for an hour so it must take an hour for this to form it's FIRM-BALL STAGE. i mean, the directions did say IN THE MEANTIME.... do the firm-ball thing.

ME: wow. hey honey, it is getting thicker. i guess it is the time thing.

ME: something doesn't seem right. it seems like it is turning brown.

ME: shit, it's smoking.
needless to say, the batch was ruined.
ME: WHAT THE HELL IS FIRM-BALL STAGE????? well in case you are wondering... check it out. here is the meaning of firm-ball stage. CAN YOU SAY ... IDIOT.

7:24 PM | tree lighting.
although we were suppose to have awful weather, it wasn't going to stop me from going to mike's work tonight. he has been working days and days on the outside lights of the facility he works at. tonight was the tree lighting... and family was invited. he said the place is VERY family oriented so he really wanted us to come. i really think he wasn't to show off his hard work on the lights. he and his assistant did a really great job. i can't tell you how many people commented to me on what a great guy he was. i am so glad. i knew it wouldn't take long for him to feel "at home". it really seems like a great place and i am so happy for him. princess had a blast. she was following daddy everywhere. one of the patients, invited princess and i to him room so princess could see his fish. we thought she was really liking the fish, especially since she made daddy bring her back there again... until he realized it was because there was a tv in his room AND it was ON!!! oh well, the poor fella doesn't need to know the truth!

4:19 AM | bright nights.
after a great day with my family, it was my nieces birthday party today, mike, princess, my brother and his girlfriend and I went up to see the bright nights. it was really beautiful. it's a 2 1\2 mile drive and is really pretty. see some pictures above. one is just for my friend amanda and i hope you are feeling better.

7:06 PM | a snowy day.
all day long since before 9am. it has been snowing. it is still snowing and it is after 10pm. it is so beautiful. i was out earlier with the princess and we had so much fun. it was so light and fluffy. so pretty. really just spent some really good quality time with princess. then i had to work and her uncles came over to watch her for a few hours and they were having the most fun! yelling, laughing, running, jumping, hiding, reading, playing, etc. so nice.

5:30 PM | say ahhhhh.
so it has been... hmmm OVER 2 years since i have been to the dentist. i know i know but of course there is a really good explanation. we moved. where we live is about an hour from my old home. so to get to the dentist... well it is... a pain. i have the princess. i would have to bring her.... ohhhhh such a long trip and for what... the dentist. i could find better things for princess to do with her time. what? i know, i could get a NEW dentist but... but... i don't know, it would be like closing yet ANOTHER chapter in my OLD life. i loved where i used to live... everything about it and really miss it so i guess it is just really hard to let go of certain things. what, like the dentist. ok ok. whatever. whatever. so it is getting close to the end of the year and my teeth are probably ROTTING. i called and they are booked for the remainder of the year except for today at 3:15. boss approves and i am off. yes, i took princess. i had no choice. she was AWESOME. she held my hand and rubbed my head. too cute! all cleaned. i need to go back for xrays to see my rotting teeth. oh well.
